Passion, circulation, orientation, clarity. Cambridge Seven's versatility in transportation design takes many forms, from public transit planning and design to rethinking the transit facilities through exhibits, public art, and gateway imagery. We view transportation and city design inseparable. We created a new transportation paradigm in the Boston area with the landmark modernization program of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) transit system. Subsequent designs of unique subway and multimodal stations, and the modernization/way-finding projects at Logan International Airport followed. The integration of graphic and universal design with implicit circulation paths forms our major focus in creating public spaces that are useful and efficient while being simultaneously memorable and appealing.
