The spirit of Kuwait echoes through the architecture and exhibits of this project, with traditional Kuwaiti souk, Sadu weavings, Islamic patterns, colors of the desert, Bedouin tents, and how sailing ships providing the overall design inspiration. Located on Kuwait's waterfront, the 194,000 sf Center integrates Discovery Place, an Aquarium, and IMAX theater into a rich blending of natural and physical science experiences. Developed by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, it serves as a center of excellence for public environmental education, focusing on the natural habitats of the sea, coast, and desert of the Arabian Peninsula.
