The Museum of Science engaged C7A in 2008 to realign and update their master plan and organize the exhibit galleries to reinforce the museum's programming, focus on new sustainability measures in the building, and connect the museum with the City of Boston. The existing arrival plaza will be expanded, brought to pedestrian scale and recast as a stormwater harvesting exhibit. Renovations to the lobby would streamline visitor services, ticketing and wayfinding throughout the museum and create a clear separation of the museum's two main exhibit wings: the Natural World and the Designed World. New exhbiits planned for the first phase of renovations include the "Hall of Human Life," New England Habitats," and "What is Technology?"
