Cambridge Seven was commissioned to transform this 300 room hotel, made famous as the site where politicians and journalists from around the world set up shop during the presidential primaries. Cambridge Seven was asked to re-imagine the dark, heavy porte-cochere into a light, welcoming point of entry, which was accomplished through the use of a modern glass canopy, dynamic lighting and elegant columns. Inside the hotel, the team transformed the lobby, lobby lounge, and pre-function areas – from a 1980’s-style oak “fern bar” into a clean, contemporary, stylish space with warm cherry paneling in a modern, fresh geometric design. This sophisticated aesthetic is also apparent in the re-design of the grand stair, which is now sleek and transparent. C7A’s design work in Manchester was recipient of Radisson’s prestigious “Renovation of the Year” award.
