Cambridge Seven Associates’ exhibit team designed interpretive and naturalistic exhibits for the new Nature and Visitor Center at Maymont in Richmond, Virginia. After orientation to activities on the 100-acre site, visitors are introduced to life at Maymont during the turn of the century via personal artifacts, decorative arts, interactive videos, murals, and interpretive text panels in the Visitor Center. The Nature Center presents the diverse ecological and historical significance of the James River's Fall Line. The river's edge is recreated along a 120-foot long naturalistic habitat, incorporating 13 aquarium tanks. Adjacent galleries focus on the geology, waterpower, animals and fish of the river.
