In 2005 Cambridge Seven participated in an invitational competition to design the exhibit, MARS Encounter at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. C7A’s design transforms the Museum’s East Pavilion into a self-directed journey into science as exploration. This voyage focuses on a wide range of scientific endeavors – space technology, physics, biology, botany, geology, and our fascination with MARS, simulating the process of discovery so fundamental to science. At the same time, an overarching theme of the search for life allows this encounter with MARS to provide lessons for our own planet as well as for the universe around us. The design was completed in three months. C7A's team was one of the top three finalists of 41 total firms invited to participate.
