Cambridge Seven won a design competition for the new 450,000 sf Kuwait National Petroleum Company Headquarters, which serves as a symbol of the company's prestige in Kuwait's heritage and economy, as well as enhancing "the gateway" to the city of Ahmadi. Stone-clad walls and a continuous skylight enclose lushly planted "hanging gardens", which act as an internal circulation spine and a place for rest and delight. The building contains executive suites and offices for one thousand employees, a cafeteria, research library, computer training rooms, and lobby exhibit area with on-site parking for 660 cars.
