Dongyang Engineering and Construction Corp. (DEC), a major construction company, condominium developer, and distributor for Lexus, is consolidating its many offices into a new headquaters building in Seoul, Korea, for which Cambridge Seven was commissioned to provide urban design services and architecture and interior design. Defining the street edge, a “crystal like” clerestory showroom showcases Lexus automobiles, while a floating, translucent, glowing volume containing the condominium sales area, frames the north end of the site. A courtyard creates a sunny, open transition from the public showrooms to the semi-private 150,000 sf office block.
