Cambridge Seven developed a master plan for the City's Cultural Complex and subsequently, designed a new 94,000 sf arts center in the complex. Several industrial brick buildings were transformed to accommodate the needs of 25 arts organizations. The C7A renovation provided offices, galleries, a theatre, and dance, printing, and music studios organized around a dramatic, three-story atrium. A major park containing sculpture courts, terraces, and an open air performance center surrounds the arts center, linking it to the YWCA and Greensboro Historical Museum, forming the Greensboro Cultural Complex. The project was done in association with J. Hyatt Hammond.
