The Scientific Center features a waterfront esplanade, an aquarium, IMAX theatre, and a children's Discovery Place Science Museum. The aquarium design by C7A focuses on the habitats of Kuwait, describing the adaptation of humans and other species to a harsh, arid environment and highlighting the fragility of environmental systems. Terrestrial habitats include an inland ravine or "wadi" and a desert cave in which mammals, reptiles, birds and invertebrates of the night desert are displayed. The Scientific Center has become the major cultural attraction in Kuwait.
