The University of Massachusetts Building Authority is developing a new Central Heating Plant at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Typically, central heating plants are comprised of an arrangement of enclosed facilities with large outlying tanks and equipment. Given its prominent location on campus, C7A was charged with providing a strong architectural solution for UMass. The concept, developed in coordination with Vanderweil Engineers and the University, creates an entire complex, building and tank farm, tied together as a unified whole under a large roof and framework structure.
