Cambridge Seven has designed this new academic building for the Department of Psychology which houses Bowdoin's growing teaching and research program in neuroscience, cognition, development processes and social interaction. The three-story, 26,000 sf facility's design by Cambridge Seven incorporates brick, glass, bay windows and window openings with a language of details compatible with adjacent historic structures. Kanbar Hall takes advantage of existing student circulation paths, completing the corner of the campus quadrangle formed by three other academic buildings. The classroom, office, and lounge functions present a transparent and active visage facing the park.
