The Peter Buck Center for Health and Fitness, registered to gain LEED Silver certification, provides a dramatic sense of welcome for the Bowdoin community. C7A’s design takes full advantage of the site, transforming a stark, windowless brick building into a welcoming “lantern” of glass. Three levels, connected by a state-of-the-art climbing wall, contain over fifty cardio and circuit training machines, Athletic Department offices, the Wellness Center, Health Services, and three large multi-function spaces, along with Bowdoin’s symbolic Polar Bear and Hall of Fame display in the lobby.
